Let me start off by saying that Steven and Carolyn are an absolute blast to spend time with. Both are so welcoming, kind, and funny! I am beyond thrilled to be shooting their wedding in September with Hourglass Productions Denver! This shoot was so cool and definitely out of the ordinary in the best way possible. These two are filled with emotion and expression and I thoroughly enjoyed editing these images and seeing all the different expressions on their faces! Please let your eyes devour this beautiful Breckenridge engagement session!

beautiful Breckenridge engagement How did you two meet?
We met on a study abroad through Michigan State University! We spent a month with a small group of students traveling throughout Switzerland, studying Environmental Science. We were fast friends; immediately cliquing and quickly discovered that we had a ton in common.colorado mountain engagement dale pale ale engagement photo

What do you love most about the other?
Steven is like a tornado of confidence, positivity, ridiculousness and fun…! I just love all of this combined into one special human being. Every day is fun with Steven – we constantly make weird noises, laugh and create inside jokes.

Carolyn is an amazing person with an incredible personality. I love that she is never afraid to be herself, saying whatever unique hilarious thing pops in her head. She is always bringing something new to the table and has so much love to give to everyone that touches her life.

Why did you pick your current venue and what went into that?

It was important to us to have the wedding in CO, so that we could share it with our family and friends, who are mostly from the mid-west. Our family and friends are used to church and country club weddings – we wanted to be different. Breckenridge is particularly special to us, since Steven lives and works there. We have so many fond memories skiing, hiking, partying with friends, exploring and general adventuring around in the area.incredible colorado engagement sessionWhat excites you the most about your wedding day?

Apart from getting to commit ourselves to each other for life (haha!) …it’s exciting to bring all of our closest friends and family to celebrate together. We have so many groups of friends and family – and most of them know each other already, due to the fact that Steven and I have been together for so long (7.5 yrs!) . They are all amazing and awesome and it’s going to be so FUN!What advice would you give to couples planning their big day?
We would advise for couples to stay true to themselves and how they picture their big day. Don’t get caught up in all of the wedding business hoopla and social pressures around what you ‘have’ to do on your wedding day. Also to focus on the big things, instead of worrying about all of the small details…that will stress you out! And if you have the money, definitely invest in a wedding planner of some sort – it will help
A TON! 🙂 Especially if you are planning a wedding far away from family. Breckinridge wedding photographer
