Tyler and Karla’s wedding day was such a special one. These two have been together for so long and it was such an awesome celebration with so much joy and supportive love from Tyler and Karla’s family and friends. I was so thankful they chose me to document it and be a part of their big day! Karla’s taste was absolutely fantastic and I loved all the details and special touches she added to her wedding from her bright fun shoes to her custom designed paper goods. Please enjoy just some of my favorites from Tyler and Karla’s wedding day.
What was the favorite part of your wedding day?
That is really hard to choose. The entire day was fantastic, from getting ready with my mom and bridesmaids, to the actual ceremony, to the reception, I couldn’t have asked for a better day. If I have to pick my favorite moment, it was probably walking down the aisle, that was when it finally felt real, I was about to get married! My dad was by my side, and both of us were trying not to cry, I was looking at Tyler who looked so handsome, and our close friends and family were all there to celebrate with us. It was a magical moment.
What was your favorite thing to design/plan?
My favorite thing to design was our wedding stationery. I’m a graphic designer, so I designed everything including our save-the-date cards, invitations, wedding program, menu, table numbers, thank-you cards, etc. I’m typically designing for other people, and making the design fit their personality, so it was fun to design everything to fit my aesthetic. I created a clean, modern, geometric design, used my favorite colors (gray, navy blue, lime green, and white), and kept that look consistent throughout all of our printed pieces.
If you could give one piece of advice to other brides who are planning their weddings, what would it be and why?
My advice is – Be in the moment, and don’t let little things stress you out! The wedding planning process (most of it anyway), and the actual wedding day are supposed to be fun, so enjoy the cake tastings, and trying on beautiful gowns, and marrying the love of your life. Hire experts (like a great photographer!!) and trust them to do a great job. Then soak up all the love and joy on your wedding day.
