Chris & Megan’s day was a dream wedding! These two put so much time and planning into the details of their day and you can tell. They made sure to make their guests feel at home in this scenic location nestled in the mountains. Thankfully the rain held off on the day of and we were able to witness them committing their lives to each other under the beautiful ceremony location outside. Days like these are why I love my career and I can’t say enough thank you’s to this couple for choosing me to document their day! I’m so looking forward to photographing another Devils Thumb Ranch Wedding in the future.

What was the favorite part of your wedding day?

Megan: My favorite part of the day was honestly watching Chris. He had the sincerest look on his face all day and just seemed so genuinely happy.

Chris: The entire day was wonderful. My favorite part was standing up in front of all our friends and family and telling the world that we love each other. I couldn’t focus on anything except my bride. My grandfather was the Master of Ceremonies and it meant a lot of have him there.

Where did you go for your honeymoon? What was the best part?

Megan: We haven’t gone on a honeymoon just yet. We both took a few days off after the wedding and we had a “date day” in downtown Denver but we do plan to take a trip this coming year. We’ve been talking about New Zealand, 2018 may very well be our year of travel.

Chris: New Zealand keeps coming up in our minds for our honeymoon. When we do take our trip, I know our best part will mainly be getting a chance to unwind and enjoy time with each other. Megan and I tend to fully invest ourselves in our day jobs and we often find it hard to break free for leisure. I hope we get to see some incredible sights.

If you could give one piece of advice to other brides who are planning their weddings, what would it be and why?

Megan: Take your time with planning. If something feels overwhelming or stressful, step away from that task and come back to it when it seems right. Plus, don’t get bogged down in too many details. Even the things that seem imperfect will be right on the day of or you won’t even notice because you’ll be too busy enjoying the day with your family and friends.

What was your favorite thing to design/plan?

Megan: I loved planning the minimal décor. The goal was to really highlight the beautiful surroundings and stunning venue while still reflecting who we are as a couple and I think that came across well.

Chris: The venue was absolutely spectacular, and it was great to have nearly everything arranged in-house. Megan and I are “foodies” so we were excited to arrange a wonderful meal for us, as well as for our guests.

Anything else you’d like to share with KMitiska Photography readers?

Megan: It was great to work with Kimberly for both our engagement session and on our wedding day. Both experiences felt completely natural and comfortable and the end results are gorgeous as well!

Chris: Kimberly is an amazing photographer. It is easy to be comfortable around her and half the time, I forgot she was taking photos. It was easy and stress free and we have wonderful photos of the best day of our life.
