Rainy River Bend Wedding in Lyons, Colorado | Hope & Chet

Hope and Chet’s wedding at River Bend in Lyons Colorado was a romantic dream and has solidified this venue as one of my absolute favorites to photograph. Rain or shine the venue is stunning and the perfect option for any wedding day as you can see from Hope and Chet’s beautiful rainy wedding day. These two have a long history together, knowing one another since the 2nd grade and finally getting together in college. They’ve been together for 12 years since and haven’t looked back, I’m so glad to have been a part of their wedding day and helping kick off this next chapter of their lives together.

Getting Ready, First Looks, and Wedding Vows

Hope and Chet spent their morning getting ready for their wedding day separately. Hope and her wedding party were all smiles the entire time she got ready on site at River Bend in Lyons Colorado. Before long it was time for some first looks, first with her father who had the biggest smile on his face when he saw her, and then with Chet. Originally Hope and Chet had planned to read their vows as letters prior to seeing one another, I recommended they read them together after their first look which they absolutely loved. A first look is already an incredibly sweet and emotional moment, and then adding in their vows on top of that just made things all the sweeter. After this beautiful moment between Hope and Chet it was time to get ready for their ceremony to begin.

Their Beautiful Ceremony at River Bend

As guests started to arrive and be seated at River Bend in Lyons Colorado, you could feel the anticipation of the wedding day all coming together. Every one of Hope and Chet’s guests were so excited and happy to be there to celebrate their love for each other and start off their next chapter together in style. Their ceremony space was decorated simply to add just the right touch to River Bend’s already gorgeous setting. As Hope and Chet arrived it was smiles all around throughout their entire ceremony all while a few tears of joy were shed as well. After their first kiss the two started making their exit from the ceremony before stopping for one more kiss on the way out which I absolutely loved! They signed their marriage license over some champagne to make things official before starting the evening’s celebrations.

Intimate and Rainy Reception

We celebrated cocktail hour with some portraits of the newlyweds as their guests mingled accompanied by live music from La Pompe Jazz. Before long the rain started to roll in so we all made our way under the tent that River Bend in Lyons Colorado has on site which worked out perfectly for their wedding reception. The tent was the perfect size for Hope and Chet to enjoy the company of those they love most, all celebrating their new marriage together. They both aren’t huge fans of dancing so they wanted to keep things low key and relaxed for their reception. The live music provided by La Pompe Jazz was exactly what the two were looking for for their reception entertainment and the perfect soundtrack to the rest of the evening’s celebrations.

Hope and Chet are some of the best and sweetest clients I’ve had the chance to work with, and their wedding at River Bend in Lyons Colorado is one I’ll always cherish. Hope had these incredibly kind words to say after their wedding day, “Kim is so warm and easy to talk to, she will make even the most camera-shy person feel at ease.
