Julie and Craig’s wedding day was thoughtful, intentional, and a perfect celebration of the deep connection these two share. This connection comes as no surprise to anyone who knows Julie and Craig, as they both are some of the kindest and most compassionate people around. These caring personalities even extend into their professional lives as well. Craig is a counselor, while Julie is a massage therapist, which as fate would have it is how the two of us crossed paths! During my appointment with Julie I immediately felt the sense of care and compassion that everyone who knows these two is lucky enough to experience. I’m so glad that our paths crossed, and I cannot wait to share the highlights from Julie and Craig’s winter wedding at Skylight Denver here with you all!
Prepping for the Day at Curtis Park Club Airbnb
The day began at what has to be one of THE coolest Airbnb rentals in all of Denver, the Curtis Park Club. This boutique hotel has a beautiful style to it, is incredibly spacious with its 9 bedrooms, and has a ton of natural light to work with. It made getting ready for Julie, Craig, and their wedding party members both stress free and a ton of fun! Feeling the love and joy radiating throughout the hotel made it immediately apparent how much this day meant, not just to Julie and Craig, but to their friends and family as well.
Once the two had their wedding attire on it was time to make our way outside for a first look. This moment was such a joy to document, as the looks on Julie and Craig’s faces were legitimately priceless. The love these two share is infectious, and their first look is a perfect example of the beautiful connection these two share. With everyone now bubbling with excitement, we made our way to Skylight Denver where the rest of their winter wedding’s festivities would take place!
Indoor Winter Wedding Ceremony at Skylight in Downtown Denver
Skylight is one of my favorite wedding venues in downtown Denver, and is perfect for a late winter wedding like Julie and Craig’s! The venue has a spacious indoor event space, on-site getting ready space, and a beautiful outdoor courtyard that are all available on the day of your wedding. With Julie and Craig having already seen one another, we were able to take most of their wedding party and family portraits prior to their ceremony which made the day flow SO smoothly. The outdoor courtyard has this sleek and simple brick wall backdrop that was perfect for these portraits.
Julie and Craig’s ceremony took place inside of Skylight, and the simple beauty of the space made for the perfect setting for their celebration. The white brick walls combined with the abundance of natural light to create an effortlessly beautiful environment for Julie and Craig to say their I Do’s. I love how the space is gorgeous on its own, but simple enough to allow Julie and Craig’s love to really take center stage. Before long the two were officially newlyweds, which meant it was time to get the party underway!
Celebrating Their Winter Wedding at Skylight Denver
Cocktail hour came immediately after the ceremony, and thanks to the way Skylight Denver is set up Julie, Craig, and their guests were able to make use of both the indoor and outdoor spaces for this part of their winter wedding. With the outdoor courtyard being attached to the indoor ceremony and reception space, everyone was able to move freely from one space to another as they mingled with one another. Julie and Craig also got to spend a fair bit of time with their loved ones before the three of us snuck out for some newlywed portraits. Another fabulous part of Skylight is the incredible location. The venue itself is in the Santa Fe Arts District, meaning there are so many murals and other colorful backdrops to enjoy all within walking distance!
We made our way back for their indoor reception, where everyone was eager to celebrate with the newlyweds. Skylight is wonderful as it can work for any size wedding celebration. From the most intimate of gatherings, to large celebrations of 200+ guests, the venue provides the perfect space for any wedding day. They also give couples complete control when it comes to choosing their wedding vendors, while also offering recommendations if needed. They really do it all, and after the night Julie and Craig had I’m sure they’d recommend the venue to anyone! Between the delicious food, moving speeches from their loved ones, and a romantic first dance to open up the dance floor, the two couldn’t have planned a more perfect finale for their day.
I’m so honored that Julie and Craig chose me to document their winter wedding at Skylight Denver. Head to my contact page if you’d like to have me as a part of your wedding day!
